VHub
Help & contact
What is VHub?
VHub is a player for media sources you already have: M3U and M3U8 playlists (from a web address or a file), Xtream Codes accounts, single stream links, Jellyfin, Emby and Plex servers, WebDAV and SMB network shares, and HDHomeRun tuners. For Emby, pick Emby as the server type. VHub uses the same code for Emby as for Jellyfin. Emby has had less testing than Jellyfin, so some things may not work. VHub does not include any channels, films or shows. Everything you watch comes from the sources you add.
How do I add a playlist?
On the Playlist tab, tap + at the top of the screen to open Add Source. Choose Add Playlist by URL, Sign In with Xtream Codes, Open a Local File or Play a Stream Link, and enter the details your provider gave you. Playlist and stream links must start with http:// or https://.
Tick I have read and accept the license terms, then tap Add to Library (playlist link or Xtream Codes), Import M3U / M3U8 from Files (local file) or Save Stream (stream link). You can also add an Xtream Codes account on the Xtream tab with Add Profile.
How do I add a media server, tuner or network share?
On the Playlist tab, tap + and choose Import from Media Server (pick Jellyfin, Emby or Plex under Server type), Add HDHomeRun Tuner (tap Scan local network or enter the tuner's address) or Add Network Share (pick WebDAV or SMB under Protocol). Fill in the details, tick the license terms, then tap Add server, Add tuner or Add share.
Network shares list MP4, M4V, MOV, 3GP and HLS (.m3u8) files. VHub cannot play MKV or AVI files, so they are not shown. Other formats VHub cannot play, such as WebM and TS, are not shown either.
A channel does not play. What can I do?
Streams come straight from your provider's server. Check that your subscription is active, that the link works, and that your internet connection is stable, then tap Retry Playback. If a server refuses the sign-in, check the server address, username and password with your provider.
How do I get a TV guide?
If your playlist includes a TV guide address, or your Xtream Codes provider offers one, VHub loads the guide when you open the playlist or play a channel. For an HDHomeRun tuner, you can enter a guide address in XMLTV guide URL (optional) when you add it.
Start a channel, then switch from Channels to TV Guide below the video to see what is on now and next. In landscape, the switch is beside the video. It is hidden in full screen, and it appears only when the guide has programmes for that channel.
For the full schedule, go to the Playlist tab and tap the list button at the right end of the source filters to open Manage Sources. Open a playlist, then tap the calendar button (TV Guide) at the top right. It appears once VHub has downloaded a guide for that playlist. For Xtream Codes accounts, open the account from Manage Sources, not from the Xtream tab.
To update the guide for your Xtream Codes accounts right away, go to Settings › Refresh TV guide. This button does not cover other playlists.
Can I limit what children can watch?
Yes. Go to Settings › Profiles (or tap your avatar on the Playlist tab) and tap Add profile. You can have up to 5 profiles. Each profile has its own watch history and parental controls. Playlists and favorites are shared by all profiles.
To limit a profile, tap the pencil next to it and open Parental controls. Turn on Require a PIN and set a 4-digit PIN. Then tap Locked content to lock categories or channels. The PIN is needed to leave the profile or change its controls. On a Kids profile, you can open Locked content without setting a PIN, and locked content stays hidden.
When you set a PIN, VHub also asks you to pick a recovery question. If you forget the PIN, tap Forgot your PIN? and answer the question to set a new one.
How do I delete my data?
VHub has no accounts and no servers that store your data. It keeps its data on your device, and in your device backups if iCloud Backup or computer backups are on.
- Sources: on the Playlist tab, tap the list button at the right end of the source filters. This opens Manage Sources. Tap … next to a source and choose Delete. Xtream Codes accounts can also be deleted on the Xtream tab.
- Watch history: open Settings › Watch History. Tap the x on an entry to remove it, or tap the trash button to clear the list. This clears only the profile you are using.
- Favorites: tap the heart again to remove a favorite. Favorites and history from a deleted source are kept until you remove them.
- Profiles: open Settings › Profiles, tap the pencil and choose Delete. The first profile cannot be deleted. A profile with Require a PIN turned on asks for its PIN, or the answer to its recovery question, first.
- Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. Copies in earlier backups stay until those backups are replaced or deleted. Deleting a source or the app does not sign VHub out of your media servers. See the Privacy Policy for how to revoke access.
Does VHub collect my data?
No. VHub has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not send your data to us. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
